In Math we are just beginning unit 2 on Estimation and Computation. Any questions? See the math link posted here, or email us at our school addresses. I will add these to the bottom of the page. Here is the math site: https://www.everydaymathonline.com/
We are going to be starting science in here next week with Mr. Bunker. It will be hands-on fun! I know a lot of you are looking forward to that.
We are continuing to read Children of the Longhouse, and will be reading chapter 8 today with a quiz on chapters 4-8 on Friday. We will be working our way through the book next week as well. If your child does not finish the reading in class, you may see that book in your house. It does need to get back to school, though, so please send it in his or her backpack if you see it around!
In writing we are working on Topic Sentences and Best Beginnings. If you have a chance at home to read some great beginnings, please feel free to share them in the comment section of this blog. We will start a writing prompt next week that will be graded in the 6 Traits model.
In spelling, we have a test this Friday on lesson 10 and 10 sentences due. Next week are lessons 11-15, with a test on lesson 15 (Friday). The assignment that is due on October 2 will be "Other Words." Students will be making other words from spelling words. I will attach a list for lesson 15 in my next post.
